Collection objective

The objective of our collection is to maintain and enhance the present collection, with emphasis placed on collecting those items, which represent all socioeconomic levels of the Town.

Facts about where we are

In 1771 the legislature of the colony of North Carolina created Wake County. The new county was created from those existing, namely: Johnston, Orange and Cumberland. The new county was given the maiden name of Govenor Tryon’s wife (Wake).

Today there are 100 counties in North Carolina.
One of the hundred is Wake county.
There are 20 Townships in Wake county.
One of the twenty is St Matthews.
There are 11 Towns and Raleigh in St Matthews.
One of the eleven is Knightdale.

Knightdale is 8 miles East of Raleigh on Hwy 64
